Young children can make everyday discoveries in science by doing easy and inexpensive activities using the materials that you have in your classroom now.
In the workshop we will talk about the scientific principles, skills, and attitudes children need to develop to build a base for future science learning. We will make activities throughout the day to take back to your classrooms to use immediately.
Science is embedded in many of the things you do in your classroom now; like, the songs you sing, the art projects you do, the stories you tell, and structures you erect. You will see how to blend-in the scientific approach when doing science activities, measuring results, and teaching problem-solving skills as you go along.
We will sing, talk, work, and have a good time, too, while we learn more about teaching science to young children.
